IAB releases guidelines for digital video ad units

New York—The Interactive Advertising Bureau has released the IAB Digital Video Rising Stars ad unit style guide for public comment. The new units are part of the IAB’s Rising Stars initiative, which seeks to create standardized creative ad formats for digital marketing.

The five new units are the ad control bar, which lets users interact with digital ads through an interface; the extender, which allows users to choose to continue watching video ad content; the filmstrip, which lets users scroll through a multipanel ad unit; the full-screen, which lets users view video content on a full screen; and the timesync, which displays rich ad content overlaid on video.
